Mencari makna dari sebuah cerita

“Hei bung,” kata seorang penumpang taksi, sambil menepuk pundak sopir taksinya. Sopir itu menjerit dan kehilangan kendali taksinya, nyaris menabrak bus, melompati sisi trotoar, dan berhenti hanya beberapa jengkal dari jendela kaca datar yang besar.

Selama beberapa saat, keadaan sunyi senyap. Lalu, sopir taksi itu berkata, “Ya ampun, kau membuatku kaget setenga mati!”.

“Maaf”, ujar penumpang itu. “Aku tidak mengira tepukan di pundak bisa membuatmu kaget seperti itu.”

“Bukan salah mu,” jawab sopir taksi itu. “hari ini hari pertamaku mengendarai taksi. Selama dua puluh lima tahun aku mengendarai kereta jesazah.”
